Wailea Window Wonderland
Jenerate PR, a public relations and brand marketing agency, was tasked by their client partner, The Shops at Wailea to find creative ways to celebrate the holidays amid the pandemic in order to drive traffic to the Center and spread holiday cheer. Jenerate PR created the concept of Santa photos with Santa standing behind a glass window for the safety and comfort of all and suggested the name, Wailea Window Wonderland. As a result, over 1,000 guests captured photos with Santa and the event earned coverage from various local media outlets.
The challenge
To create an initiative to celebrate the holidays in a way that is fun and safe for all participants in order to drive traffic to The Shops at Wailea.
The solution
Jenerate PR created the concept of placing Santa behind an empty store window for the safety and comfort of all guests and suggested the name Wailea Window Wonderland to give it a festive and family-friendly feel. Outreach on behalf of the initiative included drafting and distributing a press release to local media; conducting media follow ups; and securing and coordinating media visits for photos of Wailea Window Wonderland in addition to interviews with Santa and The Shops at Wailea management team. Jenerate PR also serviced photos of Santa’s arrival and the first day of Wailea Window Wonderland to media for secured broadcast segments.
The result
As a result of Jenerate PR’s holiday initiative and media outreach, over 1,000 guests visited the Center to capture photos with Santa. Online and print coverage was secured in Maui Now and The Maui News. Broadcast coverage was secured on Hawaii News Now KGMB-CBS and KHNL-NBC. The client was extremely pleased.
